Pleased I bought this.
Although I already have a Kenwood Chef, I decided to get myself a hand mixer for smaller quantities and for egg whites, which seem to take so long to whisk with the Chef. I'm very pleased I did - this little machine, despite feeling rather plasticky and cheap after the Chef, just sails through every job I give it. Its great for all-in-one cake mixes, and takes no time to whisk egg whites or cream to just the right consistency. It is a little noisy when on the faster speeds, but you get used to it. One thing I don't like is the speed control which goes from side to side - it seems more natural to slide it forward and backwards. Overall I'm very pleased with this hand mixer, and I like that the attachments can go in the dishwasher and it is easy to wipe clean.

Less than a year old but keeps over heating just whipping a bit of cream. Can’t find invoice so can’t get it exchanged. This makes it a very costly item.

With the Kenwood HMP30 Electric Hand Mixer it's important not to operate the mixer continuously for too long. For the beaters, the maximum operation time is 6 minutes, followed by a 15-minute rest period. Overheating can occur if these guidelines aren't followed, especially with thicker mixtures like cupcake frosting.

The beaters are 18cm long, approximately 3.5cm of which go inside the unit.
This gives an effective length of about 14.5cm.
Whether this is suitable will depend on the specific recipe you are using and the size of your mixing bowl. As a rule these should be suitable for making cake batter.
