After checking with our supplier, they have advised for the Dreamland Scandi Sherpa Single Control Underblanket-Double: ''We wouldn't recommend this we don't recommend for the blanket to be on the initial heat settings for more than 5/10 mins so you will need to change these directly on the controller after this time.''

The supplier has advised the Dreamland Scandi Sherpa Single Control Underblanket-Double heated areas are as follows:

Scandi Double (one controller) 140cm x 80cm
Scandi Double Dual Control 140cm x 130cm

The length of element wire that each control is able to heat is fundamental to explaining why the single control does not heat the full area of the blanket. It would need to be wound so far apart around the blanket that the heat would be negligible.

We do produce two different Double Size blankets; one geared towards a single person in a double bed, with one control, and one with dual controls for two people sharing the bed.

With the dual control, each person can operate their half independently of the other.

The dual control version's element wire does reach further towards the edge of the blanket than the single control.

The single control version heats a smaller area, in the centre of the mattress, so it is suitable for 1 person in a double bed on their own.

If there are two people sharing, or one person that sleeps on just one side of the bed, we would always recommend the dual control blanket for a more comfortable sleep.

The Scandi is reversible, with fleecy sherpa material on one side (ideal for the colder months) and smooth material on the other side (ideal for the warmer months). If you use the non-sherpa side, the controller will therefore be on the left side of the mattress. ”
